Bibi & Andrew - Wellington Zoo Wedding 1/9/2013

24/6/2014

We have our final flash back wedding post from 2013 for you today. This one is of our friends Bibi and Andrew from the first day of Spring last year.

Bibi and Andrew picked Wellington Zoo as the location for their wedding, a choice that makes complete sense when you know this fabulous lively couple. Bibi walked down a guest filled aisle to marry Andrew next to the Pelican enclosure. Guests were then free to wander to Zoo while Bibi and Andrew had portraits taken within the tree filled grounds. Their afternoon tea reception was held within the new Zoo event space, Kamalas. A wedding celebration at the Zoo, what's not to love!

Catering: Blue Carrot
Flowers: Vanessa at Miramar Fruit Supply
Dressmaker: Lorraine - Andrews Mum
Cake: Alex - Bibis friend

Kiera and Robert were married at Tarureka Estate in the depths of winter last year. They created a great party atmosphere by adorning the property inside and out with 180 metres of bunting.

Beautiful weather on the day meant the bridal party were captured in gorgeous golden light. Then celebrations continued with the ceremony space transformed for the reception and everyone dancing the night away. Congratulations Kiera and Robert!

Cheryl and Cam - Boomrock Wedding 29/03/14

Cheryl and Cam's lunchtime celebration was a wonderful finish to our wedding season this year.

Their chosen venue, Boomrock, was stunning and service was at their usual impeccably high standard. Guests had time to enjoy skeet shooting and extreme golf before sitting down to a late lunch. With less than 30 guests the day had a lovely intimate feel to it. Doesn't this family look like they have fun together!

Claire and Andy were married at Ohariu Farm in March this year. It was a day filled with special touches including venue decorations and bouquets handcrafted by Claire's Mum.

Just enough sunshine meant that the beautiful outdoor ceremony site at Ohariu was at it's best and the bridal party were able to wander the grounds for their portraits.  Claire and Andy's relaxed attitude really shone through, this is a small part of their day.

Matthew & Leanne - A Wairarapa Wedding 15/03/14

Leanne and Matthew were married on the 15th of March this year outside a beautiful wee church near Lake Wairarapa. Matthew spotted the location on one of many trips driving past with a surfboard in tow. The church pews were shifted outside and the church was a stunning architectural background for the ceremony.

Before the reception at Tarureka Estate the bridal party headed to the shores of Lake Wairarapa for photographs and a picnic. Matthew had also prepared a very special surprise for Leanne - a gorgeous ring to match her wedding band that she found at the bottom of her champagne glass!

Micaela & Tom - Brackenridge Wedding 8/3/14

Micaela and Tom were married on what turned out to be a bright sunny day in Martinborough after predictions of rain during the week.

They opted for a first look before the ceremony to ensure their day was a relaxed affair. Penny found a private location and captured the moment they saw each other for the first time in an intimate setting. The ceremony took place on the beautiful lawns of Brackenridge Country Retreat. A perfect setting to mingle with guests and enjoy delicious Ruth Pretty catering. Congratulations Micaela and Tom!

Kate & Andy - A Wanganui Wedding 6/4/13

1/4/2014

Kate and Andy are Kiwis who currently reside in the UK. They choose to get married in Kate's hometown Wanganui last year at the lovely Puketea Estate.

Many guests had traveled some distance to join in the celebrations and the couple put a lot of thought into making sure they would enjoy the weekend. Kate (and her Mum) planned the smallest of details, from the handmade pom poms to the lawn games for guests to play. Everyone had a great time, the packed dancefloor at the end of the night says it all...

Happy Anniversary Kate and Andy!

Micaela and Tom opted for a first look to ensure they got to spend as much time as possible with their guests on their wedding day.

This was taken in beautiful dappled light shortly after they saw each other for the first time. More to come in a few weeks...

Trudy and Joey - St Aidan's and The Roxy 23/3/13

20/3/2014

American Joey and Kiwi Trudy met when Joey and his friends were traveling around New Zealand. Fast-forward a few short years, international trips and a romantic proposal bringing us to Penny photographing their wedding in Miramar on the 23rd of March 2013.

Trudy has been involved with many weddings so she and Joey were well prepared for planning a day that everyone would enjoy. The day started with a ceremony lead by Rev
Tim McKenzie at St Aidan's in Miramar. The warm wooden church was filled by family and friends, many of whom took part in the ceremony. Everyone then moved outside to partake in bubbles, dumplings from the House of Dumplings and a delicious chocolate and fig wedding cake baked by Trudy and iced by her Mum.

The reception at The Roxy started with pre-dinner cocktails while Trudy's cousins played the piano. A mutual love of books and scrabble showed through in the venue decoration
. Family style tapas encouraged guests to interact, finished off with mini desserts and a donut tower.

Happy 1st Anniversary Trudy and Joey. Here's to many more! - Hayley
