Who we are
Inspire Photography was estalished by friends Penny and Simon in October 2007 and for the last two years have worked hard to create their own fresh and consistent style of photography.
Simon Elwell, Qualified member NZIPP
Simon has been working in the photography industry since he was eighteen. Since arriving in New Zealand with his girlfriend Anne in 2005, he has continued to follow his passion and pursue his photography career. From small beginnings, photographing babies, infants and children in English shopping centres, Simon now creates unique personalised pieces of artwork for you and your family.
Over time Simon has developed a distinctive style utilising natural light. Natural light is a key element in Inspire’s photographic style, it enables us to create the perfect environment for the most wary and timid of children. It also helps that Simon’s ability to relate and interact with children of all ages is second to none.
Penny Towns, Associate member NZIPP
Since establishing her photography business in 2001, Penny has gained a reputation as one of Wellington’s most innovative and stylish wedding photographers. Her eye for colour and talent for capturing scenes in fresh, evocative ways has won her mulitple awards, including seven bronze and one silver at the *NZ IPP national awards 2006-2008.
Penny’s hands-on approach to her work means she will see you personally all the way from pre-wedding planning through to the delivery of your hand bound album. Her years of experience have given her a knack for organising groups of people in a relaxed and unobtrusive way, and her artistry and talent allow her to capture the expressive detail, colour and character of your day in a way that will add to the memories of your wedding, not just preserve them.
