Inspire gets the Ira and Edie treatment

Edie is one of the coolest, sweetest and confident little girls I have met and Ira is your typical three year old boy; you know, inquisitive, full of fun, laughter and doting towards his big sister, but that is also what makes him so special. Ira is a courageous young boy who suffers with a condition called Apert Syndrome. Apert Syndrome is a very rare craniofacial syndrome, which means he’s had to undergo about 15 surgeries ranging from minor to major operations to ensure his brain has enough room. Apert Syndrome affects about 1 in 150,000 and doesn’t affect mental ability (aside from an initial delay due to the set back of being in hospital so young).

I first met Ira and Edie during one of our many childcare centre photo shoots. After getting some some great photographs of them both at the childcare fundraiser,  it was great to welcome Ira and family into our studio for a family portrait sitting. This was one of my favorite sittings for the year because of the energy and spirit that Edie and Ira brought to the shoot, the love that was apparent in every interaction between the family and in the amazing images which we captured of everyone involved.

Ira has still got some major surgeries ahead, but in spite of it all, and some kids (and adults) honest stares – he is a confident, happy, popular and resilient little fellow. No doubt I will be seeing Ira and family again.

“I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the amazing photos of our family. You captured happiness and light in the kids which is just priceless.” – Maria B

I love this family…and we’ve never even met yet! We got connected because my son has the same condition as Ira and we’ve emailed/chatted for a few years now.

Anywho – GREAT pictures! I hope to someday meet Edie and Ira so I can see their vibrant personalities that you’ve so wonderfully captured :)
